Taking a Break

Life always seems to fly by. Whether we focus on the next event, still processing past events, or desperately trying to get through a to-do list that never seems to end, the days pass so quickly. As we approach 2025, it is important to step back and find even a few moments to take a break from the madness.

My break comes naturally Friday night. I love Shabbat. Shabbat comes around every week on Friday night and ends at sundown on Saturday. The idea of Shabbat is to stop from the regular hustle and bustle. To slow down and make time to connect to your family, friends, and to yourself. Taking this time to stop and leave the to-do list aside strengthens my clarity on what is important in life. It also helps me realize how fast I have been running since my mind takes time to slow down into "Shabbas mode." I love singing songs, praying, getting extra cuddles with my kids, and spending time with friends and family where we are not rushing off to the next thing. Also, the amazing food and drinks help make Shabbat extra sweet!

If you do not have a Shabbat practice or a day when you are able to stop, I hope that you find a day every week for yourself. A day to remind yourself of what's important, what keeps you YOU, and who makes your life full and alive. So many times when we rush around we know we appreciate those around us and grateful for all we have, but we do not stop in that gratitude and share it with those people around us. So let us all make a point to stop this week. Call, text, message those that you cherish and spread the light that you feel inside. Ironically, while it is a big gift for the person, it is even a bigger gift to yourself. When you share how your feel from your heart you in turn feel the immense joy of being present in your love and gratitude.

As we enter this new year I am holding onto those lights in my life. My incredible family who allow me to share my music and spirituality with the world. Those people in my life who continue to lift me up, inspire me BEYOND with their fearlessness and beautiful gifts they couragously share with others, and who share and trust me with their hearts.

Saying goodbye to 2024 is so powerful when I sit with my heart that is overflowing with love, gratitude and joy for this world that I see every day. I welcome you to try and stop, take a break, and slow down time with me as we end this year with gratitude and grace. Feel free to share your blessings below.

PS. I know I have so many stories to share from NYC and Budapest and I promise to at some point. Right now the message from my time traveling and sharing music with so many incredible people is what I shared above. So much love to process <3 Choosing to sit with it now and encourage you all to join me! xxx
